What is Counseling?
Counseling is a nonjudgmental safe space for individuals to discuss issues and challenges throughout their lives that affect their current state of mental health while maintaining confidentiality. The therapist is trained and competent in helping the client develop problem solving and coping skills while identifying a potential diagnosis that impacts mental health.
What is an LPC-Associate?
An LPC Associate (Licensed Professional Counselor Associate) is a licensed mental health professional who has completed a graduate degree in counseling and passed the national licensing exam. They are fully qualified to provide counseling services and work directly with clients but must complete a supervised clinical internship under the guidance of an approved LPC-Supervisor before becoming independently licensed. LPC Associates provide high-quality, evidence-based therapy while continuing to develop advanced clinical skills through ongoing supervision.
What ages do you see?
We currently are seeing ages 13+ years old. However, we are open to seeing 11 and 12 year olds if they are able to navigate through virtual sessions
Do you take Insurance?
Yes, we currently accept UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, Wellpoint, UMR, Carelon Behavioral Health, Magellan Behavioral Health, MultiPlan, Texas Medicaid (TMHP), Medicaid CHIP, Medicaid STAR, Some Medicare Advantage.
If I don’t have insurance, how much is your rate?

Do you have a "no-show" fee?
Yes, Our no show fee is $100 dollars. To avoid a no show fee, please provide us a 24 hour notice that you will have to miss your session. A no show fee disclaimer document will be provided at every intake session. If your appointment is on a Monday or if you call outside of business hours, please leave a voicemail or send an email despite the time. This will allow us to take notice of the timestamp regarding your request to cancel or reschedule to avoid no show fees.
Do you prescribe medication?
No, we currently do not have a psychiatrist on our team. However, if medication management is needed, please speak to Dr. Henry about recommendations for helpful psychiatrists nearby as a referral.
How is counseling helpful?
Counseling assists individuals in identifying their purpose, identity, while building interpersonal relationships. Further, counseling helps with life transitions, conflict resolution, boundary setting, effective communication, and self-care to restore mental stability.
Is my information confidential?
Yes, you will be provided with an informed consent to ensure your rights and limits to confidentiality required by the state. Further, your records will be kept in a HIPAA compliant database that is only accessible to the practice. Your personal information cannot be disclosed without your written permission.
Does specialty counseling cost extras?
No, specialty counseling costs the same as individual counseling services. However, you have to request the specialty services to ensure that you are paired with a therapist that specializes in that service.
Is your office in person or virtual?
We see clients for both in person and virtual sessions.
Do you work with open court cases?
No, we do not work with open court cases related to custody battles or any other court appearances.
What documents should I expect to complete if I am registering my child for counseling and the parents are divorced or separated?
If you are a divorced, separated, or co-parenting parent seeking counseling services for your child, M.O.S.H. Counseling Services is required to obtain documentation regarding the legal rights and decision-making authority of each parent before services can begin.
For families in Texas, we may request a copy of the divorce decree, custody order, or other applicable court documentation to determine who has the legal authority to consent to mental health treatment for the child. Depending on the specific language of the court order or decree, consent from both parents may be required before counseling services can begin.
If a stepparent or another caregiver is involved in the child's life, additional documentation may be required. When appropriate, the child's biological parent(s) may complete a Release of Information (ROI) authorizing the therapist to communicate with the stepparent or other designated individual regarding the child's treatment.
These documents and required consents must be completed and reviewed before the counselor can begin providing services to the child. This process helps ensure that M.O.S.H. Counseling Services complies with applicable Texas requirements, respects parental rights, and maintains appropriate boundaries regarding the child's confidential mental health care.
M.O.S.H. is an online counseling platform, and all sessions are virtual.
